Cancellation & Refund

1. General Policy Framework

Each property on Bukinasi.com sets its own cancellation rules, which are clearly displayed at the time of booking. By completing a reservation, the Guest agrees to the specific policy selected by the Service Provider.


2. Common Cancellation Tiers

Bukinasi offers three standard policy types for Service Providers to apply to their listings:

  • Flexible Policy:

    • Full Refund: Guests can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before the check-in date.

    • Late Cancellation: Cancellations made within less than 24 hours of check-in will be charged for the first night of the stay.

  • Standard Policy (Recommended):

    • Full Refund: Guests can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival.

    • Partial Refund: Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours before arrival will incur a 50% charge of the total booking cost.

    • No Refund: Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival are non-refundable.

  • Non-Refundable Policy:

    • No Refund: The total price of the reservation will be charged regardless of when the cancellation occurs. This typically applies to "Early Bird" or "Last Minute" discounted rates.

3. No-Shows

  • If a guest does not arrive by 11:59 PM on the scheduled check-in date (and has not communicated a late arrival), the booking will be marked as a No-Show.

  • In the event of a No-Show, the Service Provider is entitled to keep 100% of the booking total, and the room may be released for resale.

4. Booking Modifications

  • Date Changes: Modification of dates is subject to availability and may result in a price difference.

  • Policy Transfer: If a guest moves from a Non-Refundable booking to a new date, the new booking remains Non-Refundable.

5. Exceptional Circumstances (Force Majeure)

Bukinasi reserves the right to override a Service Provider’s cancellation policy in the event of:

  • Declared national emergencies or pandemics in Tanzania.

  • Government-mandated travel restrictions.

  • Natural disasters making the property inaccessible.

  • In these cases, Bukinasi may facilitate a full refund or a credit voucher for future travel.

6. Refund Processing

  • All refunds are processed within 7 to 14 business days.

  • Refunds will be sent via the original payment method (e.g., Mobile Money or Bank Card).

  • Bukinasi is not responsible for delays caused by the guest’s financial institution or mobile network operator.
